Sign Stealing Incedent
Dana Kuehn has all Key Endorsements in Tulsa County:
After a decade of practicing law, mostly as a prosecutor in the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office, and with encouragement from peers, friends and family, I am campaigning for election as Associate District Court Judge for Tulsa County.
I believe the character traits that have made me successful as a prosecutor, trainer and educator will benefit the citizens of Tulsa County well in the role of Associate District Judge. I treat others with respect and apply myself in everything I do using determination and conviction for what is right.
As an Associate District Judge, I will couple my values with strong work ethic, experience and knowledge that I have gained and demonstrated throughout my legal career.
A judge’s role in the governmental process is important, yet confined. There is an often-told story of two legendary judges, Oliver Wendell Holmes and Learned Hand. After they had met and as Holmes was leaving, Hand cried out, "Do justice, sir, do justice." Holmes stopped his carriage and replied, "That is not my job. It is my job to apply the law." The story captures a profound and important statement about the role of judges in our courtrooms. Throughout my legal career serving the citizens of Tulsa County, I have overseen thousands of cases, lending my analysis and decisive decision-making abilities along the way. I have been a trusted legal advisor, not just for my office, but for hundreds of agencies, commissions, and boards across Tulsa County. I believe that judges must resist the temptation to legislate from the bench. Judicial review does not give judges carte blanche to impose their own political or policy whims. I will bring to the Court a rare combination of legal scholarship, government expertise and personal integrity.
I will do my part to ensure that our judicial system is responsive to the public good and delivers fairness and justice for every citizen.
